Materials:

HOOKS NEEDED: 10mm

YARN NEEDED:

BABY – 1 skein (100g) chunky yarn (level 5)

ADULT – 2-3 skeins (250g) chunky yarn (level 5)

I used Elle Pure Gold chunky.

(Colours used on cover photo are Blush and Silver)

Stitches used:

Sc = single crochet

Ch = chain

Chainless SC foundation stitch = Video Tutoial Here

{} = crochet stitches shown in these brackets in same stitch

[ ] = number of stitches at end of round

* * = repeat stitches

Notes:

To change se size of the cowl, just decrease or increase the number of starting stitches. The total should be an even number.

Stitch pattern:

TODDLER

Work with 2 strands of chunky yarn

Start with a SC chainless foundation of 32 stitches.

To create the twist: Bring the two ends together as if you are going to slip stitch into the end. But before you slip stitch, turn the end around twice (so that the top is at the top again)

Sl st to close up the tail. Ch 1

Row 1) *{Sc, Dc} in same st. Sk 1 st* Rp to end.

Sl st to 1st Sc                                                      [32]

2) Ch 1, turn. *{Sc, Dc} in same st. Sk 1 st* rp to end. [32]

3-10) Repeat row 2. Fasten off

Just add more rows if you want it to be wider.

ADULT

Work with 2 strands of chunky yarn

Start with a SC chainless foundation of 42 stitches.

To create the twist: Bring the two ends together as if you are going to slip stitch into the end. But before you slip stitch, turn the end around twice (so that the top is at the top again)

Sl st to close up the tail. Ch 1

Row 1) *{Sc, Dc} in same st. Sk 1 st* Rp to end.

Sl st to 1st Sc                                                      [42]

2) Ch 1, turn. *{Sc, Dc{ in same st. Sk 1 st* rp to end. [42]

3-15) Repeat row 2. Fasten off

Just add more rows if you want it to be wider.
